Philip George Perner

Philip George Perner, 73, of Ozona, TX passed away in San Angelo, TX on August 7, 2026. Philip was born on May 8, 1953 in Ozona to P.C. and Peggy Perner of Ozona. 

He graduated from Ozona High School in 1971, where he excelled in sports and 4-H activities. He attended Texas Tech University and later found his love for long haul trucking. He drove for McClatchy Brothers out of Houston, TX for 20 years. His travels took him to almost every state in the U.S. including Alaska. He even traveled to Canada.

After being diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2013, his health issues limited his trucking to the West Texas area for ranchers and oil companies. It was his pleasure to share stories of his long haul trucking adventures. Philip made his own choices and was ready for his next step in eternity. The Good Lord will welcome him home.

Philip was preceded in death by his parents P.C. and Peggy Perner.

He is survived by his sister Pam Goodwin of San Angelo, brother Paul Perner, III of Ozona, nephews, cousins, and many good friends.

Funeral arrangements by Preddy Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, 10th of August from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Preddy Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on the 11th of August 2026 at 10 a.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Ozona, TX.
