Opening a campaign of strict enforcement of the State law prohibiting cows or other livestock from running at large on highways, members of the State Highway patrol last Friday filed charges against two residents of the Ingram community. Appearing in Justice Court on complaints charging they had permitted cows to run at large on a State highway, the two defendants were assed fines of $12 each.

A man wearing the uniform of the U.S. Navy and claiming to be a victim of amnesia, was arrested here recently and turned over to military authorities in San Angelo, later to be questioned by FBI agents there. Professing to regain his memory, the man gave his name as Edison Aymond, and is said to have passed worthless checks in Eldorado.
When arrested here by Deputy Sherriff Red Woodard, Aymond claimed to be the owner of two automobiles and a motorcycle and told officers that he had wrecked one of the cars, a few miles out of Sonora on the Ozona road. A subsequent check showed no wrecked car in the vicinity, and Aymond is said to have confessed that he did not own a car or motorcycle. The man told FBI investigators that he does not recall anything which has happened to him since last March 14 when he was in Juarez, Mexico, on a vacation trip, that he had never been in the Navy and does not know where he got the Navy uniform.

A telephone campaign was planned for Friday of this week in an effort to induce between 100 and 200 Ozona citizens to attend a meeting in the high school auditorium Friday night at 7:30 to receive instructions and to perfect final organization of a Ground Observe Corps post in Ozona. The post is scheduled to go into active operations as an aircraft observation post after the Friday night meeting.
Groundwork for the local GOC post has been laid in two previous meetings here at which Sgt. E. H. Geitner of San Angelo explained the need for and method of operation of the post.
T. J. Bailey has been named post supervisor and Joe Tom Davidson chief observer. A schedule for round the clock observation will be set up with a hoped-for crew of a hundred or more volunteer Ozona citizens taking part. They will report to the San Antonio filter center only unusual aircraft flights, aircraft apparently in trouble or any suspicious craft which might appear in the skies. The GOC is a nationwide organization set up at the behest of the Air Defense Command to aid in keeping constant watch against possible sneak air attack from an enemy.

Jacoby, and valedictorian of the 1966 Ozona High School graduating class. The presentation was made as a part of the commencement exercise program. The award, presented this year for the 14th time, is given in recognition of qualities of good citizenship as exhibited by an Ozona High School student.
