Mrs. Claude Word suffered a severe electric shock Sunday afternoon when a defective electric stove burner created a circuit through her body when she touched the kitchen sink at her home. A wire element in the stove burner was broken and came in contact with the bottom of a skillet. Mrs. Word, while stirring food cooking in the skillet, reached with her other hand for the sink, to ground the current. Although the current was only 105 volts, she was severely shaken by the shock but was not seriously hurt.
