April 9, 1936
Harvey K. Hays, former county treasurer of Upton County at Rankin, drew a two-year suspended sentence at the hands of a Crockett County jury in district court here Tuesday afternoon on his plea of guilty to charges of misappropriation of public funds of Upton County while treasurer of that county. Hays at first pleaded not guilty to the charge but later in the trial changed his plea to guilty and asked for a suspended sentence. He was charged with misappropriation of around $3,000 in county funds from 1931 to 1933.

April 11, 1946
An opportunity for great accomplishments through cooperation is at hand for citizens of Ozona through the medium of the Community Council. The Council is composed of seven men and six women, named by a nominating committee and elected at a mass meeting of citizens of the community. The duties of the Council are to lead and crystalize public opinion and wishes in the matter of community betterment and progress. The council does not represent an organization within the community, but the community as a whole, citizens of the present and of the future.

April 5, 1956
Patrolman Joe Perry, district safety officer of the Department of Public Safety, San Angelo division, visited the Ozona schools Wednesday and attached Scotch-lite reflective tape on bicycles belonging to fifth and sixth grade pupils of the North Elementary school. The tape was furnished by Ozona Woman’s Forum in school safety campaign and pupils who had not ridden their bikes to school were given tape to attach to their vehicles at home. About 20 bikes were given the safety tape treatment.

April 7, 1966

RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY AT NEW PERRY’S STORE -- Mrs. Joann Babbitt, manager of the Ozona Chamber of Commerce does the honors last Thursday morning at the beautiful new store in the shopping center. Employees of Perry's look on along with the general public. To the left of Mrs. Babbitt is local store manager Jim Adams. Many Perry Brothers officials were on hand for the opening, but the store employs eleven full-time employees. Local people have been hired to staff the store.
